Lola Loves: Current Obsessions

I'm soooo obsessed with Neon right now!! I feel like the colder it gets the brighter I want my wardrobe to be.  If neon clothing is a little too much for you. Try Illamasqua Neon nail polish (you can find it at Sephora)  it gives you just enough pop to cheer you up in this sad winter weather.

I'm back in the gym and I'm so excited about it! Fufu pushed me to get back into working out and I'm soo glad I listened.  I started running and taking Pilates and I love it, the control and breathing really helps me to focus and just get away from everything.  I'm also shaping up my eating habits, the ease of delivery in NYC was turning me into a fatty.

One of my goals for 2013 is definitely to do some volunteering and really give back. I've honestly been so blessed, I really have to pay it forward.  I always feel like I don't have enough time, but with everything else I make time for I know God is giving me the side eye. So I finally stopped procrastinating and I signed up for New York Cares, and my orientation is Sunday! Don't make excuses, Just Do It (as Nike loves to say).

Curly hair is everything to me right now!! I love my hair curly but it's so hard to maintain, after two days it's over, and I can do a great wavy curly forever with a flat twist out but I want it to stay in perfect ringlets. I'm officially on the hunt for the perfect curly weave.  Any suggestions?? Look out I will definitely be rocking curly hair a lot this year.

Ohhhh how I miss spring fashion!! I mean the colors and prints are so fun. So feminine and girly (just like me)!! Spring is just really my favorite fashion season.  Those Jeffrey Campbell pumps are killer. I think I'm going to actually get those, they're screaming my name (no REALLY they are!).

6 Winter Beauty Must Haves - L&F Picks

As we reach the final stretch of winter which seems to be the longest two/three months of our lives! Our skin seems to be on its final limb,  cracking, dry, flaky.  The key word for the winter is Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize and then Moisturize some more.  Here are the items we can't go a day without this winter.  Don't forget moisturizing starts from within, drink plenty of water!!

1. Lip Scrub

There is almost nothing worse that applying lipstick or gloss to dry and peeling lips.  This is especially the case in the winter.  It truly ruins the look that we're all going for when we grab our favorite lip color to complete our look.  The easiest way to avoid this is to make sure that along with exfoliating the other important places (face/body) you make sure you show your lips some tender love and care.

Kiss Me Lip Scrub by Philosophy

2. Lip Balm

We all know how important a great lip balm is!   I don't know if you've ever experienced cracked lips, but it's absolutely the worse.  Keep it smooth and sexy with these two picks...

3. Facial Moisturizer

Not only is a great facial moisturizer necessary for great skin care, its even more necessary to combat dryness in the winter, and believe it or not keeps your face a bit warmer when you go outside.  Aveeno and Cetaphil are two of our favorite moisturizers.

Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer by Aveeno (CVS, Target, Walgreens)
Moisturizing Cream by Cetaphil (CVS, Target, Walmart)

4. Body Oil

As an easy, smell good, treat to your skin alternative to regular old jergens lotions.  We would definitely recommend these fabulous hydrating body oils/butters.  Almond Cookie Body Oil is absolutely to die for, and for you more ambitious ladies who don't mind a little rubbing in, the body butter by Josie Maran is fabulous.

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil

5. Hair Oil Moisturizer

FEED YOUR HAIR! Believe us it is yearning for some moisture as well this winter.  Look at the trees, WINTER is sucking the life out of everything, including your thirsty hair!  Massage some of this deliciousness into your scalp and reap the benefits of healthy stronger hair this winter. Lola's hairstylist has told her that she sees so much more growth from her clients that grease and moisturize their hair on a regular basis than those who don't. Use the coconut oil as a pre-conditioner before you deep condition, and use the Moroccan oil as an everyday moisturizer.

6. Multivitamins

Don't forget about vitamins!! With 3 different versions of the flu going aroud, some stomach virus, and who knows what else, DO NOT FORGET VITAMINS!! As young beautiful women we need to combat sickness on every front, the One A Day vitamins are great for this. Natrol Biotin vitamins work inside out to combat the winter and keep your hair and nails growing healthy, strong, beautiful and fast. Vitamins are in our daily routine and they should definitely be in yours!!

Making History - Again

Geesh, we really need to get our lives together and post in a timely manner. We're so busy its crazy! Posting every week day has proved to be harder than expected, but its a work in progress.

Anyways our instagram followers already know this but... We went to DC last weekend for the Inauguration and we had a fabulous time! We rode the Amtrak for the first time from Penn Station to DC. It was super relaxing and chill! We are so glad we didn't rent a car like originally planned, because the traffic in DC was HORRIBLE. Oh yea, fab friend Diny came along for the ride!

We stayed at the JW Marriott on Pennsylvania. The hotel was elegant and gorgeous! The chandeliers were to die for. If we could get our hands on one, it would be a fabulous finishing touch in our living room! Okay not really, the chandeliers were huge!! Probably bigger than our living room and kitchen combined, lol! Not only was the hotel beautiful but the food... OH EM GEE, it was soooooooo delicious!

We were volunteers for a ball that was being held at the hotel Sunday night! It was super easy work and we got to stay at the hotel and eat for free the entire time! The colors of the ball were blue red and white. So all the women had to wear those specific gown colors, and the men had to wear ties those colors. Everyone looked gorgeous. And it was so funny how all 3 of us picked navy blue, one shoulder gowns to wear. how crazy is that. The ball was so fun, we partied there all night.

The next day we woke up and attempted to go site seeing and catch the parade. The line to go through security was crazy. And it was so cold, we couldn't even take it. After getting through security and watching the parade for 5 minutes, we decided to go back to the hotel and join te watch party that the team was having.

When we got to the party, there was no one there! Everyone had left! But We had unlimited mimosas, and brunch.

It was an awesome way to spend the weekend.  Any excuse to play dress up is a good time!!

FuFu's Fave Five

Hey folks,
Every now and then, I'm going to do post like this. Just to show you guys what I'm loving, feeling, obsessing over, interested in, intrigued by at the moment, ya know...

These Metallic Pumps by ASOS
Love them, but cant have em :(
1, I already have metallic pumps (even though these are way cooler)
and 2 they are not in my budget at the moment,
but maybe I'll catch them on sale.

Rachel Zoe as Chief Stylist at Shoedazzle.com
Real Cute! Love her style!

Pixie Cuts
Yep, I'm going for it. Doing the big chop in a week or so. I've always loved the pixie cut. It's cute, classy, and if you do it right, it can be edgy too. I'm excited yet nervous because I change my hair style so much and the pixie cut is not the most versatile But whatev, I'm sure I'll make it work.

Prada Candy Eau de Parfum
I'm a sucker for sweet and light perfumes, that make me feel feminine and pretty. I smelled Prada Candy for the first time and fell completely in love. Definitely on the Valentines day gift list!

Earl Grey Black Tea by Tazo Tea
I'm on a mission to drink less coffee at work because I think I'm becoming an addict. I've tried this tea a couple times before and I remembered enjoying it, so I picked some up. Now I've fallen in love! This tea is so tasty, no sugar or cream needed. That's great because I don't feel so bad drinking it twice a day. A hot cup when I arrive to work in the mornings, and a refreshing ice cold glass when I leave the gym. Weaning myself off of coffee will be easy peasy!
